Time Magazine has officially released the 100 Most Influential Leaders for the year 2018.  This year’s turn outs were very pleasing to the eye and an honor.

Grown-Ish Star Yara Shahidi Makes it on the Cover of Essence Magazine!

“Watch out world, I’m grown now” song by Chloe x Halle which is the theme song to the hit TV sitcom Grown-ish.  18-year old Yardi Shahidi makes it to the April Issue of Essence Magazine which will bring lots of spotlight to this young star on the television screens.  Besides being a very talented activist, Shahidi started her career quite early doing a lot of print advertisements for major companies such as McDonald’s, The Children’s Place, Target, the Gap Kids, Ralph Lauren, Guess kids and Disney.  Finally in 2009, she made her big cinematic debut starring alongside with Eddie Murphy and Paramount Pictures, “Imagine That”

 

She received the Young Artist Award nomination for the category of best performance in a feature film category.  As you may or may not know, Shahidi has high hopes and plans to going to Harvard University to study Social Studies.  The 18-year old star plans to get her education on while still pursuing her career in acting.  Her plans are underway as she still tries to figure out her work schedule.  Breaking into the television big, in September of 2014, Shahidi starred in Black-ish that aired on ABC Family network.  The 14-year old star got a chance to be on a show with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.  In December of 2014, she won the NAACP Image Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in Comedy. Then in January 2018, she was called back to become the headliner of the show Grown-ish that was a spin-off to Black-ish.
