Taraji P. Henson Launches Foundation to Bring Awareness for Mental Health and to Honor her Dad

Actress Taraji P. Henson just launched a new foundation called “The Boris Henson Foundation” in honor of her late father that passed away in 2006 due to liver cancer.  But the main reason why Henson is doing this is to increase awareness for mental health among the black community.

Her father also suffered with mental health so Henson wanted to do something revolving around that.  He was also a Vietnam veteran who suffered through various of things; being homeless was one of them.  Henson named the foundation (BLHF) after her dad is because of his unconditional love.  The foundation will launch a special fundraiser called “Taraji’s Boutique of Hope” which will be held on September 22nd in Beverly Hills.  The goal of the fundraiser is to raise funds to provide resources to increase mental health support in urban schools.
